IS THERE ANY BASE CAMP IN KEDARKANTHA SUMMIT?

  • No hotels, restaurants, guest houses at kedarkantha summit.
  • The trekkers can take tents along with them for shelter at night.
  • Tents can also be rented from the nearer town.

September-October    = 1degree and -1degree celsius November-December = -1degree and -5degree celsius.

January-February       = -5degree and-15degreecelsius. March-April                 = -1degree and -5degree celsius.

  • Distance: 10 kilometers.

 Day 3

  • Juda ka talab to kedarkantha base camp.

  • Altitude: 11250 feet.

       Day 4

  • Kedarkantha base camp to kedarkantha peak to hargaon.
  • Distance: 6km
  • Duration : 6-7 hours
  • Altitude:  12500 feet to 8900 feet.

HOW TO REACH

  • To reach Kedar Kantha, you can easily get a taxi or bus, which will drop you at the village.
  • Sankri is the starting point and you will find many trekkers.
  • From sankri, you have to walk on foot for around 10 km to reach Kedar Kantha peak.
  • As the temperature reaches -9 or -8 at night it is very difficult to tolerate.
  • So, carry at least 5 warm layers in your bag in winter.
  • Therefore, before planning for the trek you should be a quick fit to handle the situation and have a practice of running for 5 km in 40 mins every day as a safety measure.
  • People interested in photography can take cameras at their own risk.
  • Very essentials to be carried everywhere you go.
  • Try to have a small bag with little things, because carrying heavy bags makes you tired and cannot reach your destination soon.
  • Keep yourself very warm and try not to freeze as much as possible.
